Phew - what a horrid past week. Another trip to the doc today and will spare you all the details, but am now on Prednisone and Ventalin and hope
these meds work. It only took 4
different doctors and a lot of persistence from me saying something just isn't right... I can't BREATHE! UGH. Anyhow, hate to clutter my blog with all this yucky stuff but wanted you to know just in case I don't post for awhile, this is why.
Okay, onto some scrappy goodness with a little Steampunk and a lot of metal!
I really wanted to do something a bit out of my shabby chic comfort zone - something a little more grungy/masculine. I had purchased a wooden tea box from my local thrift store and knew I wanted to alter it with something metal!
The Steampunk Debutante papers were perfect for this project as were the metal doorplates, hinges and buttons from
Graphic 45's Metal Staples collection.
I couldn't resist adding some flowers to the project but felt they looked out of place with so much metal. Solution - create shabby chic roses from the metal flowers!
They are actually SUPER easy to make if you have long nosed plyers! I'll post a tutorial on how to make these tomorrow okay!?
Of course I had to add something to the inside of the box so I decided to alter some cork coasters.
These were also super easy to create. Just trace your shape onto your patterned paper, cut out and apply to your cork. I finished mine with a few coats of Mod Podge so they would stand up to moisture.
Thanks so much for stopping by today and so sorry for the lack of content as of late... Fingers crossed today is the last of the bad days.
