Some ZVA Creative Projects to Share!

Hi everyone!! Hope you've all recovered from the sugar overload on Halloween!! UGH! I seriously think I ate my weight's worth in candy that evening alone!! (yes, I steal from my kiddies - but there are three of them and they're age 6 and under so really don't need and shouldn't be eating candy anyhow. Technically, I'm doing them a favour!)

Ahem...

I'm full steam ahead for the month of November!! Have some new Petaloo projects to share with you all in the next week. Some Bo Bunny goodness is also coming your way but for now, I want to share a few projects for ZVA!

The first is a layout I created for a good friend of mine. She just had her first child in the late summer and wanted me to scrap selected pics of her wee one. Yes, its a girl - so no idea why I chose to use grey and blue?? Strange - yes. I just love the softness in these papers and because I've muted the tones in the photo, they work quite well with the overall colour scheme. The border around my project is another one of my do-it-yourself stamped die cuts. I took a small circle punch and punched all around the edges using only half the punch to create this stamped look.

Lots of layers!! I LOVE them!! Here is a 'tag' I created from Bo Bunny's Midnight Frost Cut Out page and layered on top of their Frost Ribbon. I simply stitched the ends of the ribbon and joined together in a circle to create this flower on which my tag could rest.

The large grey 'flower' is also a ribbon which I simply twisted together to form a circle. I 'taped' the bottom/end together and adhered to my project with a lot of tacky glue.

Just LOVE all the amazing colours that are available for the ZVA products!! Makes SUCH a difference! I actually tried some 'white' pearls initially and they blended too well with the papers.

The beautiful blue crystal flourishes compliment Bo Bunny's Midnight Frost papers wonderfully. The rose blossoms are also by ZVA Creative. Love these cute little things - so elegant. They come in a variety of sizes and a rainbow of colours - of course to match all their gorgeous bling!

The next project I'd like to share is a simply 'love day' card. I adore the black flourishes against these papers - stand out just enough. Just wanted to point out that I've TOTALLY hacked this crystal flourish - I mean TOTALLY!

It started out as this:
And this is what I transformed it into:

I loved the flourish so much though - each individual element. It was too large to fit on my card so I cut out each piece here and there and used what I needed and saved the rest. That's the fantastic thing about bling - you don't need to use the 'whole' thing all at once. Some projects, particularly layouts, do call for larger embellishments. For cards, I find that a little goes a long way!

That's all for today. Be back soon to share some more fun stuff!!

Cheers!
