Slow Me Down Lord

The Bo Bunny Blog has their Friday Layout Challenge up!! The designers were asked to include journaling on their layouts (which is a huge challenge for me) as well as some kind of stitching (hand, machine or faux).
I decided to use the feminine Smoochable Collection paired with some beautiful blooms and pink, crystal flourishes from ZVA Creative.
Of course there is a fair amount of lace, crochet doilies and lots and lots of layers of patterned papers!!
A close up of some of the faux stitching I included.
I chose to include a poem that I came across years ago at my parents' place.  They had it stuck to the front of their fridge and it had such a wonderful meaning behind it that I kept it for myself.  I also used the first verse as the title of my layout. Here is the entire poem below which I have written on a pull out tab on my layout:

SLOW ME DOWN, LORD
~~Wilferd Arlan Peterson~~

Ease the pounding of my heart by the quieting of my mind. Steady my hurried pace. Give me, amidst the day's confusion, the calmness of the everlasting hills.

Break the tensions of my nerves and muscles with the soothing music of singing streams that live in my memory.

Help me to know the magical, restoring power of sleep. Teach me the art of taking "minute vacations"...slowing down to look at a flower, to chat with a friend, to read a few lines from a good book.

Remind me of the fable of the hare and the tortoise; that the race is not always to the swift; that there is more to life than measuring its speed.

Let me look up at the branches of the towering oak and know that it grew slowly and well. Inspire me to send my own roots down deep into the soil of life's endearing values...that I may grow toward the stars of my greater destiny.

Slow me down, Lord.
Thank you so much for stopping by today!! Enjoy your wonderful weekend!

Your LO is so soft and gentle. Love the lace doily covered with the blings.

The poem is lovely. The older I get, the more I try to live by this. And the days I do are always so much better.
Thanks for sharing! :)
