Zva Creative DT Blog Hop!

Are you ready to be inspired?

As you may know, I am a proud design team member for Zva Creative. We are joining together today to share a project that we have created using some of our favorite Zva Creative products. I am hoping that you will take some time to join us for a little bit of fun!

The Blog Hop begins at Kim Hughes' blog. She will have the complete list of all blogs that are participating in case there is a glitch along the way. If you would like to play along, I am linking to one of the Zva designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. There are 19 design team members, so be prepared to be inspired along the way. Hidden on 5 of the blogs is a Zva Creative prize package ...YAY! Those blogs will be randomly chosen after the hop is over, so it's important to leave a comment on as many blogs as you can along the way.

This Blog Hop runs through midnight US Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, June 29th and the 5 winners will be announced on Wednesday, June 30th on each of the winning blogs and the full list will be found on Kim Hughes‘s blog (linked above). We will do our best to notify each winner, but it's best if you can pop in to all of the blogs once again on Wednesday...plus, you never know what kind of inspirational creation that you may find there. All you need to do is leave a comment on this Zva Blog Hop post...you do not need to leave a comment on each and every designer's blog post to qualify. The more times you leave a comment along the blog hop path though, the more chances you will have to be one of the lucky winners.

Here is my layout I created for the Hop! My dd last winter in her new jacket. She was so bundled up and so snuggly!

For this project I used ZVA's Self Adhesive Crystals (CRB-03CA-114) and (CR-03CA-117) which accented the black in the papers wonderfully.

Did you know that ZVA also makes gorgeous flowers?! The ones pictured above are White Icy Blossoms (FLBK-02CA-115) and White Sweet Blossoms (FLBK-02CA-105) to which I inked and added distress stickles - giving them a more vintage feel.

Please hop on over to see: Ingrid Danvers.

Thank you SO MUCH for joining us!

More Scrap That! July Kit Projects

Scrap That! sure knows how to please their members! You want gorgeous - you got it. You want soft and romantic - done! The July Kit was jammed full of IOD Beloved papers by Creative Imaginations! LOVED this line SOOO much!!

Here are the rest of my projects I completed with the kit.

Just one of those lazy days spent with the kids in the backyard. A full afternoon of bubble blowing!

The gorgeous blooms are from Prima - I inked with my Walnut Distress ink so the petals stood out a little more and created the flourishes with one of my (very few) stamps.

Added a little bling from My Mind's Eye's Lush Collection (in the kit) to the flourishes and alphas - so much better!

Every Scrap That! kit comes with a wonderful sketch to inspire you. This layout was based on July's sketch - by LG! With so much layering of papers and embellies you are sure to see a soft and romantic result!

OK - was this kit MADE for me or what!? Crochet doilies INCLUDED in the kit! LOVE the texture they add and paired with the Prima blooms - nummo!

I ended up layering the flowers to create more dimension and Glimmer Misted the leaves in Sweet Clover.

Love this photo. My 5 year old and his point of view - LOL! A very monochromatic project and I think I like the end result.... definitely different than the other layouts - a much warmer feel non?

Although its hard to tell in the photos, the kit has this gorgeous tulle to play with. I ended up tucking mine under the 'frame' I cut out and it gives off a very subtle 3D effect (better in real life).

This layout almost didn't happen! I used pretty much my entire kit contents up and was left with this gorgeous die cut (which funnily enough was the first thing I wanted to use, but I guess my mojo took a turn the other way?) Rather than leaving I paired with some of Petaloo's Celebrations line - Hydrangeas in cream as well as ZVA Creative's beautiful pearl flourishes. The outcome is simple and elegant and I am really pleased I ended up scrapping this photo.

Scrap That! July Kit Reveal

Ohhhh I'm so excited to finally share these projects with you all. July's kit from Scrap That! features the gorgeous papers from Creative Imaginations' IOD Beloved Collection. They are so soft and romantic and subtle enough that they can be used for any project.

The first to share with you is a mini album I created from the Maya Road chipboard frame included in the kit. I simply traced the shape onto the cardstock and used as my base for the additional pages in the album.

The elegant wooden flourish is by KaiserCraft and I simply inked and added distress stickles (included in the kit as well).

The rub-ons by Basic Grey coordinated perfectly with the colours in the patterned paper. I used the KaiserCraft pearls included in the kit to accent the rub ons rather than the crystals they originally were packaged with.

The first page is a sweet shot of my 3 kids on a walk a few weeks back - just love the simplicity of this photo so I opted to keep the embellies simple and clean (hard to see my dd way at the back...)

Page 2 incorporates some of the gorgeous Prima lace included in the kit. I decided to twist into my own blooms and accent with the Kaiser pearls.

The 3rd and final page is of my little ones again at the park. I RARELY have a photo with all three of them looking at the camera so this was a treat! The mini flowers are by Prima and you can see I cut out the butterfly on one of the patterned papers for my embellishment.

I used my glossy accents on the rub on flourish to help it stand out against the similar brown background cardstock and it totally worked. The rhinestones are by My Mind's Eye Lush Collection - originally green but I inked with StazOn to help coordinate with my page.

That's my first project to share with you - will post some more goodies for you tomorrow!

Parenthood

Wow, wasn't expecting to finish this layout so quickly as I just started it last night but when papers and photos and embellies come together for me, its very easy to complete a project. This was just one of those days - lucky for me ;>

The photo was taken about a week ago when my 3 little ones were filling up their water squirters in the bucket of water. One of those 'wow' moments... like, wow, all 3 of those are mine? wow, I have three kids?! wow, I have a pretty good life! I'll be the first to admit that not all days go so swimmingly - far from! But... this was one of those 'good' days and I'm so glad I decided to document it.

The flowers are from the Mulberry Street collection by Petaloo. They were originally bright orange in colour and a little too punchy for the papers so I misted with Tattered Angles glimmer mist in slate and ended up with a perfectly rustic outcome.

I used Graphic 45's Transatlantique papers (with a titch of On the Boardwalk as well) for this layout - just loved the bold bright orange in this one piece of patterned paper and the whole layout really revolved around it.

There are 3 tags on which I journaled - My journey through parenthood started just over five and a half years ago and what a trip its been! I've never been to Paris or Rome - heck, I haven't even been to Disneyland! I am by no means a worldly traveller (continues on the next 2 tags not shown)... but I do know that becoming a parent is by far the most amazing dream vacation I could ever imagine. And like any adventure, there has been (and will be) highs and lows - both necessary to truely appreciate the ultimate destination. Enjoy the journey - I do!

Enjoy the rest of your week - will be back with more goodies to show you all!!

With You

Here is another layout I did of my brother in law and his wife on their wedding day. I think I may be slightly addicted to Graphic 45's Le Romantique line - just PERFECT for this theme!

I fussy cut out some of the roses in the patterned paper and also added some Flora Doodles, Peony Box Blend in white by Petaloo to bring out the white in the photo and doily. Love the softness in this layout.

The pearls are from ZVA Creative and the soft pink hue compliments the project just wonderfully! The butterfly was purchased in a package of 10 at Michaels (they do have SOME good scrappy stuff there) and adds just enough to balance the layout's delicate features.

Hope you are all enjoying this first day of summer!! It is FINALLY sunny and warm here - actually FEELS like summer for once! YEA! I am definitely ready for some Vitamin D.

I'll be back later in the week with a heap of projects to show you!! Stay tuned!

Here Comes The Bride...

...all dressed in white! The theme this month for Petaloo is Weddings and Whites! Their gorgeous Celebrations line of flowers features delicate blooms mixed with glitter and bling and everything white.

I've got a few wedding layouts to show you in the next few days, until then, here is a cute little Bridal Garter I made using Petaloo's Celebrations Ribbon Florettes.

Enjoy your Monday!

Scrap That! July Sneek!

Need I say more?

I'll be posting my projects (as will the rest of the design team) on June 26th in the Scrap That! gallery ... stay tuned. You WILL want this kit.

Snow Buddy

I just love this photo... always have. Me at age 2. I just love the 'my size' snowman and the precious moment captured between a toddler and her new snow friend. I didn't think that flowers would work on a winter page but they kind of remind me of snowflakes so I think it works.

I used the new Petaloo Celebrations flowers on this layout. Love the little touches of glitter and bling.

Hope you all have a wonderful Daddy's Day today. DH is returning from VEGAS (happy Father's Day to him!) tonight so I'm looking forward to his crazy stories (like he'll spill). I think today is going to be a crafty day with the kids... go away rain.

Come on Down...

You're the next contestant on Scrapbook Star's Online Crop!! The theme this month is Gameshows!

I hope you can join in and be inspired by some of the DT challenges in the forum. For an added bonus each of the DT will post a trivia question about a gameshow and at the end of the crop everyone who gets all the answers correct will be entered to win a RAK.

My layout was inspired by the Gameshow Love Connection. This is my dd this past Easter at my parents place. I LOVE this photo of her - in her Sunday best, playing with a truck - LOL!

The flowers are Petaloo's Mulberry Street Wild Roses in Gold as well as their Tye-Dyed Jeweled Gypsies in Grn/Brwn/Orng/Burg. I used Basic Grey's Origins Collection (love the earthy tones in this line!) and of course a doily from the good ol' dollar store.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Enjoy the Journey

I made this layout of my son heading to kindergarten for the first time this year. Such a big step in his (and my) life and one that will set the stage for many more milestones to come.

I received my HUGE package of Graphic 45 papers yesterday (5 paper pads to be exact) so I was obviously dying to dig in!!

Used a heap of Transatlantique papers for this layout: Bon Voyage, Paris Post, Meet Me in St. Loius, Souvenir Stripe and a generous helping of their gorgeous tags.

These papers are just so unbelievably beautiful on their own - not much need to embellish with additional items. I did use a crochet doily to frame one of the tags and featured a part of their patterned paper, which I cut out, on this metal charm. Otherwise, its all paper lovin' baby!!

Thanks for popping by! Hope you enjoy the rest of your day!
