Playing Hooky

So, we decided to pull the kids out of school on Monday (considering they were not likely doing much 'work' during the last few days of school) to have a family day. We decided to go mini golfing and it was super fun!!

I have to toot my own horn and say that yep, I got a hole in one... AND so did my little man! So adorable.

A fantastic day had by all and of course we celebrated with a trip to our fave treat place - Menchies!
Hope you all have a fantastic weekend ahead. We're gearing up for our Canada Day Celebration on Monday - photos to come!!

Oops!!

It's been WWWAAAYY too long!! Super sorry for not posting anything as of late! The kids are almost out of school for the summer and all of our activities are finally coming to an end - phew! What a year! I do have a few scrappy projects to share with you - but you'll have to wait a little bit until I'm able to show them to you. So.... I hope you don't mind a bunch of family photo stuff until then.
Last week my daughter graduated from preschool - SUPER adorable!  Don't you just love the 'look' between her and her little buddy.  Makes me giggle every time I see it.  Apparently she is going to marry the little one on the bottom left - LOL! (him and dad she says...)
Such an exciting time for her! Come September, she'll be in the 'big kids'' school and she absolutely can't wait!

You've Been Framed!

The Bo Bunny Design Team was challenged to create a layout that focussed on Framing; framing your layout, your photo, part of your photo, etc.
I tried to create the illusion of several papers framing the layout itself. The background die cut shape was to represent an ornate frame and then the inner papers were to represent the matting... I also tried to frame the photo by using several pieces of noteworthy layered upon one another.

Thanks so much for your visit today!  Have a wonderful Father's Day tomorrow.

Warm Hearts

Last week the Bo Bunny Team was asked to create a layout using a paper collection in a way that it was not originally designed for. I chose to use the very patriotic Anthem Collection for a Winter layout - loved the cool tones of the blues. What do you think?

I'm not getting any other vibes but winter and holiday here!  See if you can do the same on your next project - stretch your products and use them in a way that you'd never think possible.  Happy crafting!

A Card to Share

Happy Monday! Really, do those two words even go together ? LOL! Well, it was a busy day for me - from bootcamp to dentist to doctor to swimming lessons and finally soccer practice - ugh!! I'm pooped. Thought I share a sweet, shabby chic card with you all using the beautiful The Queen's Heart Collection from 7 Dots Studio.
The beautiful flowers and bling are from ZVA Creative - love the subtle hint of elegance they add to the otherwise distressed feel of this card.
Be back soon with some more card creations to share and hopefully a few tutorials as well. Thanks for your visit today!

Birthday Girl!

We celebrated my wee one's birthday recently and I just wanted to share a few photos from the day - Enjoy!
All dressed up in her 'party dress' and sparkle makeup.  Hairdo care of Auntie Kiki.

Some of the family.  Grammy, Auntie Whitney & Uncle Lars and Daddy.  Auntie Kiki & Uncle Tait and Tait with his girlfriend.
The kids with their fave cousin.
My baby sister and I with the birthday girl opening some of her favourite prezzies.

Happy June!

Happy June 1st! Can't believe how quickly the month of May has passed us by.  Three more weeks and my kiddos will all be finished school (yikes!).  What do you normally do with your wee ones during your summer vacations?  Do you put them in camps?  Have tons of playdates or just leave things open for a spontaneous beach day?  I need some ideas...
In the meantime, I'd like to share a layout I created using the gorgeous papers from Bo Bunny's Isabella collection (I also added in a few pieces from their Mama-razzi2 collection - love the way the black adds a bit of punch).  Super shabby chic - love the muted tones in this collection.  (sorry for the poor quality photos as well - it was a dark/rainy day and even Photoshop couldn't help these images very much...)  On that note actually, I have had a few requests to post a tutorial/tips on how I take photos of my projects and I promise that I will do this in the next few weeks!
To get a little more dimension to my layout, I used sheets of crumpled up paper from an old encyclopedia and arranged them under the layers of papers, photos and embellishments.  Make sure when you do this you use tacky glue (lots).

Thanks so much for stopping in today. Wishing for some sunshine this weekend!
