Altered Birdhouse - Secret Garden Style

Welcome to Wednesday! Yea.... my kids are well (enough) to go to school today for the first time in a week - let's hope everything goes smoothly for them today!! I have a super shabby, spring inspired, altered birdhouse to share with you today - come take a peek...
I've said it once and I'll say it again - thrift stores ROCK!  I found this gem at my fave place in town for a measley $2.00... Oh my goodness - the things I could do to you - I thought.
Enter the new Secret Garden Collection from Graphic 45 and suddenly this birdhouse becomes the sweetest, most vintage find ever!
I must admit, it was a little tricky cutting my papers to fit the intricate designs of the windows on either side, as well as the fancy holes in the front but it seemed to all work out in the end.

As you can see, I've also added lots of metal staples from Graphic 45 which I simply painted and aged with distress ink.

The beautiful flowers and pearl flourishes are from ZVA Creative.
I've also extended the white gesso onto the trim of my house, in nooks and crannies and on the tips of my flowers as well. (gets kinda addicting)

Thanks so much for your visit today - until next time!

Prairie Chic

It's Monday! URGH! Our weekend was spent listening to the nonstop sound of my three children hacking their lungs off - so much so, that a visit to the ER for my littlest was in order. We got the 'all normal' send off and pretty much just have to let this nasty bug run its course. Poohy! Hate it when the little ones are sick.
I bring you a sweet layout today in hopes of summoning Spring sooner than later! I created this project using the Prairie Chic collection from Bo Bunny.

Next up is a tag that I created using solely (aside from one tiny piece of chipboard) the Noteworthy Product from Bo Bunny.  It is by far, my favourite embellishment!
Although I adore ALL BB products, my absolute fave has to be the Noteworthy. But its just 'paper' you say?? No...nono... Noteworthy are tiny pieces of shaped and die cut patterned papers that match seamlessly with each collection for which they are created. I am in love!
Thanks so much for your visit today! Healing vibes would be more than welcomed!! Thanks!

Lovely Cards

Happy Sunday to you!  I have a trio of cards to share with you today that I created with 7 Dots Studio's Hopefully Collection.
Lots of different layers and beautiful embellishments were added to each card to create a more vintage feel.
I painted the hardware (keyhole) as well as the tips of the flowers to achieve a softer feel to the card.

The beautiful crystal bling and roseblossom flowers are from ZVA Creative.

Thank you once again for your visit!! I will be back tomorrow to share some Bo Bunny love.

Cherish

Good morning!! Hope you are having a restful day so far! All three of my wee ones are sick with a horrid cough - UGH! Going to be a long day with lots of rest and juice - but at least the sun is shining! I have a new project to share with you all today using the NEW Queen's Heart Collection from 7 Dots Studio.
These papers are so wonderfully soft and distressed and just scream feminine!  I've also used a heap of flowers from Bo Bunny's Blossom line.

Can't resist adding a little bling to my projects - The pearl flourishes are by ZVA Creative.
Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Will be back tomorrow to share some cards using the lovely papers from 7 Dots Studio's Hopefully Collection.  Have a great Saturday!

Graphic 45 Cards & Tags

So sorry it has taken me so long to post! I have had a whirlwind of a week and haven't had much blogging time. I have a few more projects to share with you from Graphic 45 - please have a peek below.
This tag was created with Graphic 45's new Tag Staples released at this past CHA.  I decided to use a monochromatic colour palette with lots of layers of embellishments.  The design team was asked to create a tag which showcased the 'staples' collection!
If you look closely, you can see several different types of embellishments from the Staples line; buttons, metal brads, metal keyhole...
...metal buttons, metal tags, metal label holder, staples stickers...
Up next is a card I created using the new French Country Collection from Graphic 45.  The tones in this line are super bold and bright but I wanted to showcase the versatility of the patterns and neutral colours and opted for the more masculine/clean and simple card you see above.
Lastly, I have a card created with the wonderfully romantic Ladies' Diary collection.

Thank you so much for your visit today! Hope you have a sweet Valentine's Day tomorrow!

Go Red For Women

This is an absolutely hilarious video - but sends a very serious and important message. Know the signs. (Hit a little too close to home for me...)

More From CHA...

It's February! WOW can't believe we are already into the second month of the New Year! I have a few more projects to share from this past CHA and would like to start today with another altered Art Box from Graphic 45.
A little on the larger side at 8x8, this box is the perfect canvas on which to create.  The box in the middle slides out to reveal the inside - perfect for a decorative project or left bare to hold treasures and keepsakes.
Here is the inside box as well as the outer 'shell' shown together.
I decided to create a romantic, layered decorative project on the inside of my box - adorned with flowers, doilies and whimsical butterflies.
Here is the side view to give you a better idea of the true colours in the light.  I also altered my metal pieces and tips of my flowers with some acrylic paint in buttercream as I found it gave more of a vintage inspired feel.

Thank you so much for your visit today - until next time!
