Can you remember your favorite book from your childhood? This month's Cultural Extras challenge from
7 Dots Studio prompts you to chose your favourite book from your childhood and use it as a source of inspiration.
I was trying to think of a single Children’s book to inspire my project for this assigment but it was so difficult. I loved books when I was younger and of course all the classics came to mind first – Red Riding Hood, all the Dr. Seuss books, all the princess stories... I couldn’t decide. Luckily, I happened upon a photo of my daughter and I sleeping on the couch together and instantly thought – Sleeping Beauty! I know a classic fairy tale with a princess theme doesn’t necessarily stir up images of dark and grungy papers, but I just love the way the Wonderland papers emphasize the tones in the photo. I like to think of it as a modern twist on an old classic!
