This week's challenge was to create a layout without using any patterned paper. A tough one for SURE! Here's my take...

I used some awesome paper from Chocolate Box where one side is brown and the other side is a different colour when you rip it, tear it, distress it, etc. So cool! I put a 8x8 paper stack behind the paper and sanded so that the blue square came through, ripped the middle to showcase the awesome blue, ripped the edges, added some pink paislee chipboard stickers, some shells we found at the beach and viola! The journalling reads: During our vacation at Tigh-na-Mara, you said that your favourite part was searching for treasures with mom on the beach. I will cherish this moment and all the wonderful times we share together - always.
I have to admit that due to the fact that I have 3 wee ones under the age of 5 I must use my scrap time wisely SO... I also found a way to slide this layout into another challenge over at Scrapping out LOUD! Their challenge for the week was to use a colour that you wouldn't normally use. For me, chocolate brown was the winner. Love the colour, never seem to use it as my dominant hue. Anyhow, I also managed to tie it in with their sketch of the week and word of the week - which was cherish!
