Blink

In the blink of an eye, your life has changed...

I can remember, when I was in highschool, making lists of all the things I wanted to accomplish in life when I 'grew up'. Who would have thought that I'd finally see the day when all my 'things' have happened. I am happy, healthy, married to a wonderful man, live in the house of my dreams and have 3 gorgeous children! It seems like just yesterday I was crossing things off my list... How time flies.

For this layout I used the Mia Collection from Crate Paper - such beautiful colours and patterns in this line - love it.

The flowers are Petaloo - Mulberry Street Small Leaves Assorted, Felt Fancies Flowers and Leaves, Mulberry Street Mini Magnolias in Fuschia and Mulberry Street Large Wild Roses in Brown.

I fussy cut out some of the blooms from one of the sheets of patterned paper and tucked behind the scallop die cut to bring in some turquoise.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend. The last day of spring break....

Love Your Smile

It would seem as though I've been putting those Crate Papers to good use! The last bunch of layouts I've completed have been mostly Crate! Just can't help it! Love all their papers and the colours and patterns are fantastic! For this layout I used a combination of papers from their New Pink Plum line, Mia and Cottage Collections.

Featuring the new blooms from Petaloo! For this layout I used: Mulberry Street Daisies Small with Tyedye, Felt Fancies, Velvet Butterflies, Mulberry Street Value Bag in Assorted Earthtones, Mulberry Street Large Wild Roses in Orange.

Just love those velvet butterflies!

Enjoy your Thursday!!

Catch Me (if you can)

Last weekend we were out and about enjoying the gorgeous weather - the cherry blossoms were in full bloom and were so lovely. I snapped this photo of my dd and dh running around the park. She loves being chased and taunts "you can't catch me, nah nah nah nah nah nah nah). Of course she would run into my arms for safety (that was my favourite part).

I used Petaloo's new CHA Releases: Mulberry Street Large Wild Roses in Pink, Mulberry Street Small Assorted Leaves as well as Flora Doodles Peony Box Blend Large (Brown/Pink/Cream).

The papers are from Crate Paper's new Pink Plum Collection (yummy)!

Thanks for stopping by - enjoy the gorgeous weather!

Curious Mind

It was just over a month ago now that I received an email from sweet Anna over at Pencil Lines Sketch Blog asking me if I'd like to Guest Design with them. Well OBVIOUSLY I accepted - have you had a chance to check out their blog!? Crazy talent on their DT and the sketch inspiration is endless.

Here is the sketch I provided for the design team...

...and here is my layout.

The papers are Basic Grey (some old, some new) and the flowers are Petaloo Color Me Crazy Flower Layers which I misted with Shimmerz Spritz.

I also cut a few of the petals off the blooms and tucked under the lace for a softer look. You could also ink these or outline with a pen so that each individual petal was more visible.

Its spring break here for the kidlets so I'll be out and about trying to keep them busy. Hopefully the weather holds up so we can do a few outdoor excursions...

Altered Birdhouse

Happy Sunday. I will be the first to admit that "Michaels" and I don't have the best relationship - so limited to say the least in scrapping supplies, but I really don't have much of an alternative. However, every now and again I'm able to find some pretty cool things...

I bought this birdhouse the other day and decided I wanted to give it a go and take a bit of a break from my layouts. It was quite fun actually!

Here's the side view with the gorgeous papers. I rarely do blue but just had to have these ones.

I pretty much Mod Podged everything in case I decide to use it as an actual birdhouse rather than an indoor decoration. The roof is covered with patterned paper by Crate and then I layered with burlap as I felt it was too striking for the piece. Again, the THICK layer of Mod Podge ontop has made it rock hard.

The flowers are from Petaloo's Mulberry Street Line - Wild Roses in White which I actually inked, misted with Shimmerz Spritz and then painted with Scribbles paint to achieve the worn blue hue to match the one in the patterned paper (which I totally fell in love with - its by K & Co).

It was quite nice to try my hand at something new - for whatever reason I can always complete altered projects more quickly than layouts... no clue why??

I'll be back tomorrow with another layout to share!

Bye for now!

Cherish

Oh how I love this line from Crate Paper. Their Prudence collection is not a new release, but its definately one of my faves. The colours are bold and earthy and are just perfect for those boy layouts.

I picked up these berries and leaves from Michaels and ended up painting them a cream colour and then added some walnut ink to the berries.

I received so many goodies from Crate as part of my winning package! I am in love with all their papers. The quality is so thick and textured and the patterns are perfect. Can't wait to scrap this weekend!

Laugh

DT work for Petaloo featuring their new CHA releases. My dd a few weeks ago just enjoying life!! She is such a pleasure to watch. Dug into my old stash for this layout and used a lot of Making Memories papers. The leaves are actually silver glittery leaves from Michaels that I ended up painting with cream coloured paint to match the vintage feeling of the papers.

For this layout I used their Mulberry Street Small Assorted Leaves, Felt Fancies in Fushia/Yell/Green, Felt Fancies in Tan/Brown/Aqua, Color Me Crazy Hydrangea Petals, Flora Doodles Velvet Butterflies and Mulberry Street Value Bag in Assorted Earthtones.

Just loved these felt flowers - so rich in colour and the stitching on the larger ones are the perfect extra touch.

The velvet butterflies are so fantastic. Like the other Petaloo products, they are so detailed and textured - love them so much!

Candy Store

My 3 kids drooling at the sights inside the local candy store... thought it was so cute as I rarely let them induldge in the sweets.

I used the gorgeous Mulberry St Collection from Petaloo (Mulberry St Mini Magnolia and Mulberry St Value Bag, Assorted Earthtones) and a mixing of papers from Graphic 45.

Hope you're enjoying your Sunday. Having a Birthday Bash for my little one today so will be nice and full from cake in just a few short hours - can't wait!

A Perfect Day

My dd and I enjoying some mommy-daughter time. Featuring new CHA Releases from PETALOO!

Their Mulberry Street Line is absolutely gorgeous and the flowers have such dimension and texture!

For my layout I used the Large Wild Roses in Brown, Small Leaves and the Value Bag of Assorted Earthtones. The papers are from SEI and Scenic Route.

I did WAY too much cut work for this layout - UGH I love the delicate results though so I guess the 2 hours was worth it!?

TFL!! Enjoy your weekend!

Aloha!

I can't believe this is the first/only photo I've scrapped from my trip to Hawaii!! Crazy! Just haven't been able to find the right paper/embellie combo with a pic to inspire me.

I found these brightly coloured Basic Grey Papers from their Sugar Rush collection and thought that they'd work perfectly with the whole Hawaiian sun feel. I cut out the middle of the Doilies paper and inked the back of it black so it would stand out more against the lighter patterned paper. (too halloween???? not sure....)

All the gorgeous flowers are from Petaloo. I used their Flora Doodles Line and several of the collections: Sweetpeas, Bristol, Delila. They work so well together that its easy to mix and match.

I also used Petaloo's Tiffany's Treasures Flower Charms and felt that they complimented the glitter in the other flowers wonderfully.

The leaves are from the Color Me Crazy Line and are so versatile. I ended up misting mine with Tattered Angels glimmer mist and it looks so natural - like they came that way! They take to inking and staining very well as they are quite thick.

Thanks for the visit!!

Until tomorrow....

Thought You Weren't Looking

Here's a fun layout I created for Scrapbook Star using their wonderful March Kit - featuring the Season Line from Crate Paper.

I just love all the bold and bright colours and the paper quality is amazing! So thick and textured - makes such a big difference! To create the circles, I ended up cutting all the flower tops off the flowers from one of the pieces of patterned paper. I thought they'd work better for a boy layout - don't you think?

Precious

My dd and I sharing a moment! A cutie patoutie she is!! The layout was done using the wonderful Album Kit from My Creative Scrapbook. Papers are Jenni Bowlin and the flowers are from Imaginisce.

I used plain Bazzil cardstock and spritzed with mist. I then used some Swiss Dotted Bazzil and inked the heart doily pattern and fussy cut out (as I didn't want to add anything to the kit aside from cardstock).

The chipboard swirls were painted white and then I added some 3D Paint by Tulip for a little dimension.
I ended up going over the flowers with a white journal pen to help them stand out a little and to give a more playful feel which I thought mirrored the photo. The chipboard hearts and flower centre have been inked with Tim Holtz Distress ink (fired brick) and doodled on as well.

Enjoy your weekend!! Spring Break starts next week over here - what about you? I hear its a little later in the U.S.?
